Smart Tracking

Smart Tracking products offer an alternative, often more scientific approach to investing, which is founded on the principles of passive management but adds an additional, more strategic approach to stock selection. By being more selective about which stocks are selected, and how they are weighted, Smart Tracking products can target stocks with specific fundamental characteristics. Depending on the strategy employed, they can target higher returns, lower risk or an attractive income.

The Smart Tracker products below are Exchange Traded Notes (ETN), which are designed to track the performance of a selection of stocks, bonds, commodities or other underlying assets on a one-for-one basis, which means that capital is at risk in the same way as a direct investment. They are issued by SG Issuer, a 100% subsidiary of Societe Generale. However, depending on the product, Counterparty Risk to Societe Generale as Guarantor may be mitigated through the use of a portfolio of UCITS eligible collateral. To determine if the ETN is collateralised, please check the field ‘Collateral’ in the individual product page (this will also be indicated in the product’s Final Terms).
